Oh, one other cool thing with PNG is it's progressive mode. If you're
familiar with GIF's interlace mode (which loads the image in a kind of
window blind fashion - drawing every Nth line so that the entire height
of the image is displayed (albeit with much lower quality) more quickly
than it would be if every line were drawn in succession), PNG has something
similar where it does interlacing both vertically _and_ horizontally.
This helps make the image look a little more like the final product than
just vertical interlacing (like GIF) does.
At least, I believe that's the story.
