When: Thursday October 29 ,1998, 6:30pm - 8pm Where: Maxim Group 1651 Response Rd Sacramento, CA Directions: From Davis: Take Business 80. Exit at Arden (East). Turn Right on Challenge. Building is on Corner of Challenge and Response Rd. Kaiser Permanente is on the other side of the street. The meeting is on the third floor. What: You are invited to the first Sacramento Linux Users Group (SLUG) meeting. The setting will be informal. Agenda for the meeting will include demonstration of Slackware on a 486 and discussion of the different flavors of Linux. Among the heavyweights, Linux has been adopted by Wells Fargo Bank, NASA, Cisco, PG&E, and the United States Post Office for production applications. Linus Torvalds began the original creation of Linux in 1991 which is now supported by thousands of developers around the world. The source to Linux is open, so it allows for complete customization.
