Actually, I did that... had to start somewhere :).
2.2.14 built and everything worked - with and without an EXTRAVERSION set.
Hmmm, bug in the Red Hat sources maybe?
Now, I just have to get FreeS/WAN to work with the Bee's Cisco PIX firewall.
