basically, if I'm down there should be more than my servers in the
internic, which will go to someone
doing secondary DNS, who will have MX records for the zone. The highest
MX will my my servers (that are down) and then
fail over to the other MX (you and rick) which you server is said to
relay for. Your server will see that it is not the
primary and that you do not directly accept mail for saclug.org and
spool it in its queue. Every n minuets/hours
it will try and process the queue until the queue expire time, but
hopfully my servers will be up before then
and your server will send all the spooled mail over. Summary: Its all
handled by MX's, but the secondaries must
be setup to relay back for the domain.
