The last I heard, TIK got broken in the AOL-MS messaging wars. Maybe they
fixed it since.

Subject: [lug-nuts] AOL AIM TIK
If anyone has ever used AIM for linux there used to be a version called
TIK on AOL's website. It was written in TCL/TK and was REALLY nice. It
stored all of your "buddies" on a server so that no matter what machine
you logged into, if it had TIK on it, you would get the same buddy list. I
thought this was very cool. :) AOL has since replaced TIK with a JAVA
version of AIM :( (BLAH!). Anyway, if anyone is looking for TIK or would
like to try it out, drop me an email. I have the tar ball :)
Mike
