[Lug-Nuts] Linux on architecures other than i386

Anybody running Linux on architectures other than Intel, like Sparc,
Alpha, MIPS, PPC, etc?

I'm considering installing Linux (debian) on an external drive of my
sparc laptop, _and_ installing LinuxPPC on a G3 for showing off at a
MacNexus meeting.

If anybody has done either of the following, I'd like to know your
mileage with it. How did it run, is it like running it on x86, etc?
