Yes. A majority of the programs you run in a text window (like
the console or an xterm) that do anything fancy (like color, highlighting,
or scrolling backwards) are very prolly using curses.
Install the "libncurses4-dev" package on your Debian box then cd into
/usr/doc/libncurses4-dev there are a bunch examples of what can be done
with curses.
